The Sturgeons have developed a sound not quite like anything you have heard before. They’ll take you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and bring you back to earth. Twin brother’s Calan and Lucas Hamilton’s eclectic brand of honest folk-pop has brought them critical acclaim, successful Canadian tours, radio airplay, and privilege of sharing the stage with some of Canada’s heavy hitters. All the while never losing their signature grit. With two records under their belt and the release of NEW album “Black & White”, The Sturgeons swim on strong.

They play an eclectic mixture of 50s/60s pop & 70s angst folk roots. It feels old, new, strange & familiar. What really stands out about this record is the refined songwriting, strong harmonies and tasteful arrangements.

Rollicking folk-rock from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Rory Verbrugge & The Ruckus play old-time music with a rock-and-roll spirit. Their first album Dead Man’s Dance is set for release in summer, 2016. The group is new, but it’s members: Rory Verbrugge, Luke and Cal Hamilton (The Sturgeons), Kevin Johnson and Lee Galinaitis (The RIF) and Sean Loewen have been active members of a thriving Winnipeg music scene, writing, performing and touring for years. Armed with a rich, rootsy sound, the ‘Ruckus invigorate traditional folk music with rocking juke-joint blues, heartbreaking home-grown country and blistering bluegrass. Live, these prairie boys bring a mix of glitz and grit that’s already seen them grace the stage at local festivals and sure to make them a must-see for every fan of real music and a good time. – See more at:
